The last few weeks, we’ve talked about both the finances and creative situation in the WWF. But what about the North American scene outside the WWF?
I know, it barely exists, and nothing exists when it comes to anything above the small-time level. In one sense, there appears to be a huge opening for a cable network that wants to add programming, since for the first time in years, pro wrestling is actually undersaturated to an extent. Actually WWF, by adding two new shows in recent weeks without adding new actual wrestling product, is oversaturated on TV, but the lack of alternatives to WWF does leave a potential void. But for the first time in history, the wrestling audience that exists today is largely an audience only of WWF style fans as opposed to fans of wrestling in general, with no alternative interest.
