March 11, 2019 Observer Newsletter: Death of King Kong Bundy

Leati Joe Anoa’i (Roman Reigns) revealed in a WWE Network documentary that he was diagnosed with Chronic myelogenous leukemia, or CML for short.

Everything about his condition, his ability to maintain his size, his ability to come back and his past history pointed to CML, as noted here in the past.

A CML diagnosis carries with it a 90 percent chance of survival for more than five years. As noted last week, those sound like great odds, but if you’re 33 and you have three children, even a 10 percent chance of not lasting five years is a tough situation to process. Reigns didn’t say the pill he was taking for treatment, but did say it was a pill. Gleevec is the pill most often prescribed for this condition.

Reigns had the condition at 22, and the condition is something he will have to live with the rest of his life with the possibilities of it flaring up again.
