June 26, 2023 Observer Newsletter: CM Punk returns on AEW Collision debut, Forbidden Door preview

C.M. Punk returned to AEW on the debut of Collision on 6/17 at the United Center in Chicago.
He cut a promo that added to the internal divisiveness in the company and got over great with the live audience the day after a story he was interviewed for by Marc Raimondi of ESPN came out where he was heavily critical of Adam Page.
From a business standpoint, Punk did come across as the spark and the addition that could greatly help the growth of AEW. But how this plays out will be something far better to look at six months from now. The company could end up very differently in ways that are impossible to fully predict right now.
Punk, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Ace Steel, along with others who were on site when the brawl took place after last year’s All Out are prohibited from talking about it, and not allowed to talk about each other. The company has done everything to keep them apart, which may or may not have been the right thing, because nothing has healed and likely has only gotten worse.
