Wrestling Observer Live: Austin returning? Cody leaves AEW

On the Sunday edition of Wrestling Observer Live, I am joined by a familiar face as WOL weekday co-host Mike Sempervive drops by to break down all the major headlines from the week in wrestling.

WWE Elimination Chamber was Saturday and the big story was Brock Lesnar winning back the WWE title. Also, Bobby Lashley looks to be out of action due to an injury suffered at Royal Rumble as he was removed from the match quickly yesterday without even getting in it.

Andrew and Mike also discuss the latest developments with Cody and Brandi Rhodes’ departure from AEW and if there was some dissension internally that might have led to the split. Is Cody really going to WWE, what is the latest on that possibility, and what will he do?

Steve Austin is tentatively slated to have his first wrestling match in 19 years at WrestleMania, possibly against Kevin Owens. The two speculate on how good that match might be and if it even needs to be good or just a spectacle.

Are we going to see a cross-brand implosion of the Bullet Club? Jay White attacked the Guerrillas of Destiny at Impact No Surrender, siding with the Good Brothers. Will any of this be reflected in New Japan or AEW? Mike has a few thoughts about what that may look like.
