Amid the craziness of the world, a well-known pro wrestling website based in Canada — Slam Wrestling — quiety relaunched recently after their previous owners decided it was time to move on.
On this episode of Josh Nason’s Punch-Out, I talked to one of the co-founders, wrestling journalist and author Greg Oliver about how everything came together, the reasons the site was dropped and what they hope to accomplish in today’s media environment.
We also talked about his decades in wrestling journalism and talking to so many Canadian stars through the years and what he thinks of the successes of Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega, the cover boys for his latest Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame Book called “The Storytellers“. Along the way, we get nostalgic about wrestling columns in newspapers and discuss how the website and Canadian media covered the deaths of Chris Benoit and Owen Hart.
Then, I talk about what I think is the biggest wrestling story that no one is talking about which came out of Wednesday’s NXT media call with Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
