WWE’s Triple H ‘truly humbled’ by response to in-ring retirement announcement

Triple H has thanked those who commented following the announcement of his in-ring retirement.

“I am truly humbled by the texts, calls, posts, and all the kind words,” he wrote on Twitter. “I’m grateful to each and every one of you. I wish I could respond to each of you, but I type so slow I’d never leave the house again. Please know how much they all mean to me. Stay healthy, be grateful for all you have and seize the day…I know I am!”

Triple H announced his in-ring retirement on Stephen A. Smith’s show on ESPN+ on Friday, citing heart issues last fall that left him with a defibrillator in his chest.

“As far as in-ring, I’m done. I would never wrestle again. I have a defibrillator in my chest so it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to get zapped on live TV,” he said.

Triple H’s final match was at a WWE house show at Sumo Hall back on June 29, 2019, where he teamed with Shinsuke Nakamura to defeated Robert Roode and Samoa Joe.
