WWE touts economic impact of WrestleMania 34

As they do annually, WWE is touting the economic impact that WrestleMania had on its host city.
WWE and the governor of Louisiana (John Bel Edwards) have announced the findings of a report conducted by Enigma Research Corporation, which claims that WrestleMania 34 generated $175 million in “direct, indirect and induced” economic impact for the greater New Orleans region derived from spending by those visiting for the event.
Last year’s report claimed an economic impact number of $181.5 million for WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida. The number for WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans was $142 million.
WWE also noted that WrestleMania 34 generated “approximately $23.7 million in federal, state and local taxes.”
Enigma Research Corporation’s report states that 77 percent of those who attended WrestleMania 34 were from outside the New Orleans region and stayed for an average of 3.9 nights. It also notes that $22 million was spent on hotels and accommodations in New Orleans and that $9.9 million was spent by visitors at restaurants in the area.
For 2017, 79 percent of those who attended WrestleMania 33 were from outside the Orlando region and stayed for an average of 5.6 nights.
