WWE talking about adding women’s Intercontinental, US titles

More titles could be coming to WWE.
The promotion is discussing adding women’s midcard championships for Raw and SmackDown, our own Dave Meltzer has confirmed.
Over the weekend, a social media post by @hashtagPWN stated that the plan is to create women’s Intercontinental and United States belts for the main roster. Fightful Select later reported that the idea was being discussed but images that had spread on social media were AI art and not the actual designs.
Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez addressed the potential new titles on the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
“Someone’s going to criticize me because I don’t know who first reported it (Editor’s note: It was @hashtagPWN & then Fightful). I know it was reported earlier today because somebody texted me and just goes ‘It’s being reported out there that they are going to create women’s US and Intercontinental titles.’ And I asked and I was basically told that that is, in fact, what is being talked about. So, there you go. Two more championships, one on each brand,” Meltzer said.
WWE’s NXT brand just introduced a women’s midcard title last month. Kelani Jordan became the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion at Battleground after winning a six-way ladder match. She has since successfully defended the belt against Sol Ruca at yesterday’s Heatwave in Toronto.
