WWE SmackDown video highlights: Samoa Joe wins United States title

A title change took place on SmackDown’s go-home show for Fastlane.

Samoa Joe, Rey Mysterio, and Andrade all answered R-Truth’s open challenge, with Joe pinning Andrade to win the United States Championship. This is the first title Joe has won on the main roster.

Joe was interviewed after his title win and said he isn’t one to come out and do dance breaks, he doesn’t pander to the masses of the unexceptional, and (unlike R-Truth) he surely isn’t a man who loves John Cena. Joe said all his opponents will find is disrespect.

In the main event angle, Becky Lynch stood tall over Charlotte Flair heading into their match at Fastlane. Charlotte invited Lynch out for a “friendly discussion.” When Charlotte attacked her, Lynch fought Charlotte off with a crutch and put her in the Dis-Arm-Her.

WWE finished building to Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owen’s WWE Championship match at Fastlane. They went back and forth at the start of the show and Owens got laid out by Rowan. Owens faced Rowan later in the episode, with Bryan causing a disqualification. Mustafa Ali then returned to television and made the save for Owens.
