WWE SmackDown video highlights: Samoa Joe taunts AJ Styles

SmackDown finished building to their portion of the SummerSlam card on last night’s go-home show.

Samoa Joe taunted AJ Styles to close the episode. He interrupted Styles and read a letter that he claimed was from Styles’ wife, Wendy. It said that Joe was right when he insulted Styles and called him a bad husband and father. Joe ended it by alleging that Wendy wrote that she wants Styles to lose the WWE Championship at SummerSlam so he can know the feeling of losing what he loves the most — because she lost him a long time ago.

WWE then uploaded a post-show video where Styles had to be held back from attacking Joe backstage.

Carmella, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch took part in a face-to-face segment ahead of their triple threat match on Sunday, with Charlotte calling Carmella a diva that’s living in a women’s era.

Elsewhere on SmackDown, a three-part video package looked at the history between Daniel Bryan and The Miz, The New Day and The Bludgeon Brothers both picked up momentum heading into their Tag Team title match at SummerSlam, and Jeff Hardy fought off an attack by Shinsuke Nakamura,
