Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship and Daniel Bryan’s SmackDown career were on the line in the main event of last night’s SmackDown.
With Bryan passing out in a guillotine, Reigns retained the Universal Championship and Bryan was banished from SmackDown. Reigns also laid out Bryan with a con-chair-to after the match was over.
Cesaro had tried to make the save for Bryan after the match. But as he was beating down Reigns, Jey Uso attacked Cesaro. Uso then tied up Cesaro in the ropes and forced him to watch Reigns give Bryan the con-chair-to.
Reigns debuted new theme music on last night’s show.
Also on last night’s SmackDown, the Intercontinental title was on the line as Apollo Crews faced off with former champion Big E, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler took on Natalya & Tamina in a non-title match, and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair & The Street Profits teamed up against Bayley & SmackDown Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode.
