WWE SmackDown video highlights: Randy Orton RKOs Roman Reigns

An RKO out of nowhere left Roman Reigns laid out on last night’s WWE SmackDown.

Reigns, Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles all signed the contract for their upcoming Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match at the Royal Rumble, but it took a bit longer than expected. While Reigns’ challengers signed the contract in last night’s opening segment, Reigns waited until the end of the show.

Paul Heyman informed SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis that they had just arrived at the arena and had not looked over the contract yet. Heyman was still upset that it’s going to be a fatal four-way match instead of one-on-one. Aldis threatened that, if Reigns didn’t sign the contract last night, Aldis would have the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship declared vacant.

Orton warned Heyman that he would defeat Solo Sikoa in last night’s main event and then RKO Roman Reigns.

Attempting to make things right after being decimated last week, Sikoa and Jimmy Uso disrupted a match between Knight and Styles. They vowed to take out Orton as well, but it was Orton who followed through on his promise. Knight and Styles fought off Uso when he tried to interfere during Orton vs. Sikoa. That allowed Orton to defeat Sikoa with an RKO.

Orton, Knight, and Styles had a confrontation after the match. Knight punched Styles but was then given an RKO by Orton. Orton followed that by laying out Styles with an RKO too.

Reigns then ran in and dropped Orton with a Superman punch. Thinking he had the upper hand, Reigns finally signed the contract and made the fatal four-way match official for the Royal Rumble. Reigns lined up Orton for a spear, but Orton countered it into an RKO.

The Royal Rumble is now one week away. It’s taking place from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday, January 27.
