WWE SmackDown video highlights: Kofi Kingston & Kevin Owens brawl

The WWE Championship match for Money in the Bank and SmackDown’s participants for the men’s and women’s ladder matches were confirmed last night.

After Kevin Owens turned heel on The New Day, Kofi Kingston will defend his WWE Championship against Owens at Money in the Bank. Kingston issued the challenge to Owens last night. Xavier Woods tried to get revenge by attacking Owens, but Owens laid him out with a superkick.

In the main event segment, Owens hosted the KO Show and mocked New Day. Kingston came out to brawl with Owens. He got the better of it, but Owens then raked Kingston’s eyes and bailed. Kingston stood tall to close the show.

The lineups for both Money in the Bank ladder matches were finalized as WWE revealed SmackDown’s participants. Bayley, Mandy Rose, Ember Moon, and Carmella will be in the women’s ladder match, while Finn Balor, Ali, Andrade, and Randy Orton will be in the men’s match.

Alexa Bliss, Naomi, Natalya, and Dana Brooke are Raw’s women’s MITB participants. Braun Strowman, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, and Baron Corbin are in the men’s match.

The Hardys also vacated the SmackDown Tag Team titles last night due to Jeff Hardy having a knee injury. In a post-show interview, Jeff said he’ll be out of action for six to nine months.
