WWE SmackDown video highlights: Extreme Rules go-home show

WWE finished building to Extreme Rules on last night’s go-home edition of SmackDown.

AJ Styles retained his Intercontinental Championship against Matt Riddle in last night’s main event. After the match, Styles extended a handshake to Riddle. Riddle accepted, but Baron Corbin then ambushed him and laid him out with the End of Days.

A tag match on last night’s show built up the two Women’s title matches for Extreme Rules. SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley & Sasha Banks defeated Nikki Cross & Raw Women’s Champion Asuka, with the finish being Bayley pinning Cross while having her feet on the ropes for leverage. Cross attacked Bayley backstage later in the show.

The New Day defending their SmackDown Tag Team titles against Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro in a tables match was added to the card for Extreme Rules. In storyline, Nakamura & Cesaro got to pick whether it would be a tables match or a steel cage match after Cesaro defeated Big E last night.

Plus, Braun Strowman squashed John Morrison ahead of his Swamp Fight against Bray Wyatt at Sunday’s pay-per-view.
