Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler appear on Miz TV

Ahead of their WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam, Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler appeared on Miz TV. Ambrose verbally laid into his opponent, saying that Ziggler can’t handle pressure and has never run with the ball.

A fired up Ziggler responded, telling Ambrose that he doesn’t have what it takes to put him away. The encounter then got physical as Ziggler laid out the champion with a superkick.

12-man tag team match

The SmackDown tag team division was involved in a brawl again this week, but this time it was sanctioned in a 12-man tag. American Alpha again came out on top after hitting Grand Amplitude on Aiden English and winning the match for their team.

Eva Marie gets stuck in traffic

The storyline of Eva Marie refusing to wrestle continued, with this week’s excuse being that she was stuck in traffic. But Naomi still managed to impress even without competing as she debuted a new ring entrance.

Curt Hawkins will soon be joining the SmackDown roster

A vignette aired confirming that Curt Hawkins would soon be returning to WWE as a member of the SmackDown roster. The video touted facts about Hawkins, including that he has counted to infinity twice and can slam a revolving door.

Randy Orton vs. Heath Slater

Randy Orton faced off against Heath Slater, and it was wrestling’s self-proclaimed hottest free agent who technically came out on top after Orton was disqualified for refusing to stop beating down Slater in the corner. Orton continued the assault after the match and left Slater laying with an RKO.

Heath Slater remains a free agent

But even after technically getting a win over Orton, Slater remained a free agent as he deliriously confused SmackDown’s Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon for their Raw counterparts.

Dean Ambrose vs. Erick Rowan

Despite taking a superkick from Ziggler earlier, Ambrose was victorious against Erick Rowan later in the night. And there was tension within the Wyatt family after the match as Bray Wyatt walked away from Rowan.

Becky Lynch & Carmella vs. Natalya & Alexa Bliss

Becky Lynch and Carmella picked up the win after Lynch tapped out Natalya. Eva Marie made her way to the arena during the match, resulting in Naomi coming out as well.

A six-woman tag team match was announced for SummerSlam with Becky Lynch, Carmella, & Naomi taking on Natalya, Eva Marie, & Alexa Bliss.

Baron Corbin attacks Kalisto again

Baron Corbin once again attacked Kalisto backstage. He promised that he would continue the attacks whenever Kalisto tried to get back up.

John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio

John Cena and Alberto Del Rio renewed their rivalry ahead of Cena’s match with AJ Styles at SummerSlam. Styles was on commentary for the match, but left his position to deliver a Phenomenal Forearm to Cena immediately after he had picked up the win.

Styles taunted Cena on the mic. He tried to hit a Styles Clash, but Cena laid out Styles with an Attitude Adjustment in the ring before hitting another through the announce table.

SmackDown Fallout: Miz and Maryse are ready for SummerSlam

The Miz cut a promo on “Apollo Creed” earlier in the night, leading to Apollo Crews coming out and hitting a powerbomb on his SummerSlam opponent. But Miz still taunted Crews in a promo after their confrontation.

After gaining the edge earlier in the night, Crews promised to win the I-C title at SummerSlam.
