WWE SmackDown video highlights: Becky Lynch teams with Cena

Becky Lynch and John Cena came face-to-face on the New Year’s Day episode of SmackDown.

Cena’s return to WWE television came in the form of a segment where he said “some man” was going to come down to the ring and insult him. Instead, Lynch’s music hit. She told Cena that she wasn’t looking to just overtake Charlotte Flair on the billboards and posters, she was aiming for Cena too. She said if Cena has a problem with that, Nikki Bella won’t be the only woman to drop him this year.

They were interrupted by Zelina Vega & Andrade “Cien” Almas, which led to a mixed tag match. Lynch & Cena got the win when Lynch threw Cena out of the ring and then submitted Vega with the Dis-Arm-Her.

Cena went to shake Lynch’s hand after the match, but she did his “You can’t see me” taunt.

The episode also featured a number one contender’s fatal five-way match to determine who will challenge for Daniel Bryan’s WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. AJ Styles hit a springboard 450 on Randy Orton to get the win. Mustafa Ali, Rey Mysterio, and Samoa Joe were also in the match.
