WWE reveals name of New Year’s Day PPV

The name of WWE’s New Year’s Day pay-per-view has now been revealed.
WWE’s first-ever New Year’s Day PPV will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, January 1, 2022. The PPV is named “WWE Day 1.”
WWE filed trademarks for “WWE Day 1” on August 19.
The New Year’s Day PPV was first announced by Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young during a video that aired after Bianca Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Championship defense against Carmella at the Rolling Loud music festival last month.
“State Farm Arena is a phenomenal venue with a long history of hosting world-class events,” said Scott Zanghellini, WWE Senior Vice President, Revenue Strategy & Development. “We’re excited to deliver this pay-per-view to the people of Atlanta and the many that travel to the city to celebrate New Year’s.”
Tickets for the PPV will go on sale to the general public this Friday (August 27) at 10 a.m. Eastern time.
The night before WWE Day 1, the New Year’s Eve episode of SmackDown will be held at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
