WWE Raw viewership down from last week, demo rating up

A combination of NBA competition and daylight saving time changed the usual viewing patterns for last night’s Raw, which averaged 1.70 million viewers overall and drew a 0.48 rating in 18-49.
Raw’s viewership number was the lowest since the end of football season, but the 18-49 number was solid, given the NBA competition for men and younger viewers, and stronger than usual news ratings, although not at the level of the prior weeks.
Raw was second behind the Denver Nuggets vs. Philadelphia 76ers NBA game which did 1.62 million viewers and a 0.53 rating in 18-49, and was barely ahead of the late game with the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Utah Jazz that averaged 1.41 million viewers and drew a 0.47.
Tucker Carlson on Fox News against the first hour of Raw did 3.95 million viewers and a 0.38.
In total viewers, Raw was in 16th place for the night.
Raw was fifth with women 18-49, third in men 18-49 behind the two NBA games, third in 18-34 behind the two NBA games, first in women 12-34, and fourth in men 12-34 behind NBA-related programming on ESPN.
The ratings pattern was unusual since the first hour of Raw was the lowest hour of the three. The second hour beating the first isn’t unusual the first week of Daylight Saving time and will likely happen a lot the next few months. The third hour beating the first hour is unusual.
As compared to last week, viewers were down four percent but 18-49 was up five percent. The gains were all with men, which were up 12 percent in 18-49.
As compared to one year ago, viewers were down eight percent, 18-49 was down 14 percent, and 18-34 was down 19 percent. Keep in mind USA Network is in nine percent less homes than a year ago, so the declines aren’t quite as large as they appear at first glance.
From hour one to hour three, women 18-49 were down nine percent, men 18-49 were up 12 percent, teenage girls were up 14 percent, teenage boys were up 14 percent, and people over 50 were even.
The three hours were:
- 8 p.m. 1.67 million viewers
- 9 p.m. 1.75 million viewers
- 10 p.m. 1.68 million viewers
