WWE Raw video highlights: Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe

One title match took place and another was canceled on the New Years’ Day edition of Raw.

Roman Reigns defended his Intercontinental Championship against Samoa Joe, with the stipulation being that Reigns would lose the title if he got disqualified after losing by DQ the week prior. Enzo Amore was supposed to defend the Cruiserweight Championship against Cedric Alexander, but Amore was hospitalized with the flu and didn’t end up wrestling.

Amore’s hospitalization was worked into the show with Nia Jax choosing to visit him over helping Alexa Bliss. Bliss faced Asuka in a non-title match, Finn Balor reunited with Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows against Elias & The Miztourage, and Brock Lesnar returned to television and brawled with Kane.
