WWE Raw ratings down from WrestleMania 38 fallout episode

Raw last night averaged 1.80 million viewers overall and drew a 0.54 rating in 18-49, the latter being a strong showing now that WrestleMania is over.

It was the summer pattern where the second hour beats the first, but there was a big drop from hour two to hour three.

Raw was first on cable in 18-49, and first in every key demo except women 18-49, where it was second to Below Deck (0.42 to 0.39). Below Deck was a distant second in 18-49 at 0.35, as well as in 18-34, where Raw at 0.38 more than doubled the second place 0.15.

In total viewers, Raw was 10th, trailing only news shows. It was an easy night of competition as the biggest sports event was the WNBA Draft on ESPN which did 403,000 viewers and a 0.11 in 18-49 head-to-head.

Raw in 18-49 beat ABC in hour three, beat NBC the entire night, and beat Fox in hour two. When you factor in homes getting the show and the real average, Raw actually would be tops for the night.

Raw was down 14 percent in viewers from last week’s show after WrestleMania, but that is to be expected. It was down 13 percent in 18-49 and down 21 percent in 18-34.

Comparisons to last year are misleading because WrestleMania was a week later, so this comparison would be to the Raw after Mania, and it was down 11 percent in viewers, down 20 percent in 18-49, and down 10 percent in 18-34.

As far as the declines during the show, in the key demos hour one and three were similar but there were big drops in hour two to three across the board that were very large: 12 percent with women 18-49, 13 percent with men 18-49, four percent with teenage girls, 15 percent with teenage boys, and 16 percent with people over 50.

The three hours were:

  • 8 p.m. 1.84 million viewers
  • 9 p.m. 1.94 million viewers
  • 10 p.m. 1.64 million viewers
