WWE pushing for Ronda Rousey return

Ronda Rousey may be returning to WWE.

Fightful reported this afternoon that a Rousey return to WWE has been discussed internally, describing the situation as a “poorly kept secret”. Fightful, as well as Bryan Alvarez, is reporting that Rousey has been a name attached to this year’s Royal Rumble, though her participation isn’t currently known.

Fightful additionally reported that Rousey has been training as of late, and those within WWE think it is not a matter of if, but when Rousey will make a return to the company.

Rousey last appeared for the WWE at WrestleMania 35, where she lost the Raw Women’s Championship after a 232 day run with the title to Becky Lynch in a three-way main event that also involved Charlotte Flair. Since leaving WWE, Rousey has started a family with husband Travis Browne, giving birth to a baby girl back in September.

This year’s Royal Rumble event will take place this Saturday at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
