Report: WWE has discussed Lucha Libre AAA run for Omos

After spending some time in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH earlier this year, Omos could be set for another international excursion.

WrestleVotes reports that WWE has discussed the possibility of sending Omos to Lucha Libre AAA in Mexico for a stint like he had in NOAH. Omos competed in NOAH for seven matches this January, including winning the promotion’s Tag Team titles.

“WWE creative has discussed sending Omos to AAA for a run, similar to his brief NOAH stint this past winter,” WrestleVotes wrote. “Per source, the idea is to further establish him as a true special attraction outside the WWE bubble.”

It was announced in April that WWE is acquiring Lucha Libre AAA, with the deal expected to be officially finalized at some point between now and the end of September.

Omos (Jordan Omogbehin) has not wrestled since ending his NOAH run, and it’s now been more than a year since his most recent WWE match. Despite that, Omos revealed last month that he has signed a new multi-year WWE contract. The 7-foot-3 former basketball player first joined the company in 2019. He was born In Nigeria and played college basketball at the University of South Florida and Morgan State University.

The most recent WWE television appearance for Omos was when he was an entrant in the 2024 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on SmackDown.
