WWE NXT video highlights: Finn Balor turns heel
A surprise heel turn took place at the end of last night’s NXT.
Three weeks after making his return to the brand, Finn Balor turned heel and attacked Johnny Gargano. The heel turn came after Tommaso Ciampa confronted the Undisputed Era at the end of the episode and was joined by Gargano. Balor came out and stood with them, but he then gave Gargano a Pele kick.
Undisputed Era laid out Ciampa while Balor watched on — neither joining in on the attack or helping Ciampa. Balor then went to the outside, gave Gargano a dropkick that knocked down the barricade, and hit the 1916 DDT on the ramp.
Roderick Strong had retained his North American Championship against Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic prior to the show-closing angle.
The angle continued after NXT went off the air, with WWE uploading a video where Gargano was taken out on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance.
