WWE issues storyline injury update on Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed given ‘massive’ fine

Adam Pearce has issued an official ruling regarding the Bronson Reed and Seth Rollins angle that played out last Monday.
Reed attacked Rollins on the show and delivered multiple Tsunami splashes from the top rope before security was eventually able to pull Rollins to safety. WWE announced on Saturday that Rollins will be out of action for “an unspecified period of time” and that Reed has been fined “a massive yet undisclosed amount of money.”
“Our medical staff has informed me that Seth Rollins has, in fact, suffered several cracked ribs and internal brusing and as such will be out of action for an unspecified period of time. Bronson Reed, the cause of this last Monday on Raw, has been fined a massive yet undisclosed amount of money, which he has appealed, and I do not expect that Mr. Reed will be happy when I deny that appeal.”
Our own Dave Meltzer noted in Friday’s edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the injury angle was done to give Rollins some time off to deal with chronic injury issues.
“Rollins is cleared but is still banged up and is trying to get in the best physical condition,” Meltzer wrote. “His issues are chronic but not at the point to getting flagged. He’s trying to stay ahead of the things so will be taking a little time off. We’re not sure if he’ll be back for the PPV or not, but if he is, it would now seem to be with Reed and not with [CM] Punk, which makes the Punk finish even more just a way to get out of a match and having Punk lose. Although they no doubt will get to Punk vs. Rollins at some point.”
