WWE introducing crossover ruling, IC title status to be addressed

With rosters limited and ratings affected by the coronavirus pandemic, WWE is allowing limited crossover between the Raw and SmackDown brands.

Post Wrestling reported today that WWE “is set to introduce a ruling that will allow for some crossover between Raw and SmackDown.” Their report has been confirmed by our Dave Meltzer.

The report stated that details of the specifics of the ruling weren’t made clear, but it’s expected to keep the wrestlers crossing over to a minimum.

Post Wrestling added that the ruling will be introduced on Raw tonight, and the hope is that it’ll be a simpler version of last year’s Wild Card rule that allowed a certain number of Raw and SmackDown wrestlers to make appearances on the opposite brand.

The report also said that “one source indicated that this idea came at the request of the networks.”

Post Wrestling also wrote that WWE will address the status of the Intercontinental title this week. Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn hasn’t appeared on SmackDown since retaining his title against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 36.
