WWE hypes ‘open door’ for Raw & SmackDown on this week’s NXT

WWE is hyping that wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown will be appearing on this Wednesday’s episode of NXT.

Last night’s Raw ended with a promo where Triple H announced that NXT will have an “open door” on Wednesday night. He challenged Raw and SmackDown to bring everything they have.

Wednesday’s NXT is the go-home show for TakeOver: WarGames and the last NXT episode before Survivor Series. SmackDown’s Survivor Series go-home show will then take place on Friday, with it kicking off four straight nights at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois for WWE.

As part of the invasion angles leading into Survivor Series, The O.C. (AJ Styles, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) appeared on NXT two weeks ago. SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley also appeared last Wednesday and attacked NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler at the end of the show.

Raw vs. SmackDown vs. NXT is the theme of this year’s Survivor Series. There will be two five-on-five-on-five elimination tag matches between the brands, along with three non-title triple threat matches between champions of Raw, SmackDown, and NXT.

  • WWE Champion Brock Lesnar defending against Rey Mysterio in a no holds barred match
  • Universal Champion The Fiend defending against Daniel Bryan
  • Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler in a non-title match
  • United States Champion AJ Styles vs. Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong in a non-title match
  • Raw Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders (Ivar & Erik) vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) vs. NXT Tag Team Champions The Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish) in a non-title match
  • Team Raw (Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, Ricochet & Drew McIntyre) vs. Team SmackDown (Roman Reigns, King Corbin, Braun Strowman, Mustafa Ali & Shorty G) vs. Team NXT five-on-five-on-five men’s elimination tag match
