WWE announces new movie theater partnership ahead of SummerSlam

WWE has entered into a new partnership that will make SummerSlam available to watch in some movie theaters.
It was announced via Deadline today that WWE is partnering with movie ticket company Fandango for a multi-event collaboration that starts with SummerSlam. Fans will be able to watch the PLE at select Regal Cinema theaters across the country, with both single-night and two-night bundle tickets available. The two-night bundle also includes an exclusive SummerSlam T-shirt.
“While Regal will be the official exhibitor for SummerSlam, additional exhibitors are expected to join for future WWE live events,” Deadline wrote.
SummerSlam is taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3. It’s the first two-night SummerSlam in history. The show will stream live on Peacock in the United States and Netflix elsewhere.
Among the matches scheduled are John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes, Gunther vs. CM Punk, Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill, and a triple threat between Naomi, Rhea Ripley, and IYO SKY. Country music star Jelly Roll will make his in-ring debut on the card, teaming with Randy Orton against Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre.
“WWE is one of the most electrifying global entertainment brands, and its events deserve to be experienced on the big screen,” said Will McIntosh, the president of Fandango. “We’re thrilled to work with WWE and Regal Cinemas to bring the action-packed SummerSlam 2025 cinema presentation to fans nationwide.”
Back in 2022, WWE had a movie theater partnership with Fathom Events for that year’s WrestleMania. The promotion currently has a deal with Cosm to air PLEs in immersive reality at Cosm’s venues in Los Angeles and Dallas.
