WWE expected to run ‘business as usual’ in wake of Vince McMahon allegations

WWE is expected to run “business as usual” for Friday’s SmackDown taping in the wake of allegations made against Vince McMahon. 

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that both McMahon and John Laurinaitis are currently expected to be in Minneapolis for the show. 

“Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis are going to TV Friday, at least as of a couple hours ago,” Meltzer said. “That’s what we had heard and they are basically saying it is ‘business as usual.'” 

“That is what they are saying, yes. So, I don’t know how it could be business as usual, you know what I mean? And again, this is very early in the game, nobody’s been fired yet.”

Meltzer continued to say that there are those in WWE who believe Vince will remain as CEO of the company despite the allegations against him. 

“Major CEOs far more powerful than Vince McMahon have been brought down for less than this. I know people in the company who do believe Vince will survive this, not so sure about John Laurinaitis, but do believe Vince will survive this with the idea that as long as there’s no company funds used to pay this off.”
