Dominik Mysterio has rib injury, not expected to be out long

Though an injury forced him off the Night of Champions card, Dominik Mysterio isn’t expected to be out of action long.

Dominik was supposed to defend his Intercontinental title against AJ Styles in Saudi Arabia this Saturday. But WWE announced on Raw earlier this week that Dominik is dealing with an injury that’s caused the title match to be postponed. PWInsider reported that the injury is a rib issue, which Dave Meltzer confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer described it as a minor injury and said Dominik should not need to vacate the Intercontinental title.

“Dom has a minor injury,” Meltzer said. “That was legit. It’s a rib injury, but he’s not going to be out for very long. They’re not going to strip him of the title or anything like that.”

A new date for the Dominik vs. Styles title match has not been set yet. It’ll be Dominik’s fourth title defense since winning the belt at WrestleMania 41 this April.

Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan is also on the shelf right now after suffering a dislocated shoulder on Raw last week. Morgan is expected to be sidelined for months due to her injury requiring surgery.
