Cena returned to WWE programming at Sunday’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view, appearing for the first time since his Firefly Fun House match against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36. Cena confronted Reigns after Reigns retained the Universal Championship against Edge at Money in the Bank.

Cena then cut a promo to kick off last night’s episode of Raw. Cena said the fans and Reigns are what brought him back to WWE. Cena said he’s here for the Universal Championship and challenged Reigns to face him at SummerSlam. Cena called Reigns an “arrogant, self-absorbed, over-hyped, over-protected, overexposed gimmick” who isn’t as over as he says he is.

Reigns should respond to the challenge on this Friday’s SmackDown.
