WWE announces storyline injury update on Charlotte Flair

WWE has announced a new storyline injury update on former SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.

During this morning’s episode of WWE’s The Bump, it was announced that Flair will be “out of action indefinitely” following her “I Quit” match against Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash. WWE is claiming that Flair suffered a fracture of the radius in the match.

The radius is a forearm bone.

Flair lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Rousey in their “I Quit” match at WrestleMania Backlash this past Sunday. Charlotte gave up when Rousey had her in an armbar with her arm wrapped inside of a steel chair.

Following WrestleMania Backlash, Dave Meltzer reported that the injury angle was done because Flair is taking time away from WWE to get married.

Flair told Ariel Helwani during an interview earlier this year that she and Andrade El Idolo are getting married this summer. The wedding ceremony will take place in Mexico.

Flair vs. Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash was a rematch from WrestleMania 38. The “I Quit” stipulation was added due to the way that their match at WrestleMania ended. Charlotte tapped out to an armbar at WrestleMania, but the referee was knocked out and didn’t see it.
