WWE announces new UK television deal with Channel 5

WWE announced this morning a new television deal in the United Kingdom that brings them back to free-to-air television in the country.

They have partnered with ViacomCBS’s Channel 5 to broadcast one hour versions of Raw and SmackDown on the network starting on February 2. Raw will air on Sundays starting at 10:30 a.m., while SmackDown will air Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.

Under the deal, NXT UK will also have a new broadcast home. It will air on the Paramount Network each Wednesday at midnight.

Content will also be added to Channel 5’s streaming service called My5. Full seasons of reality shows Total Divas and Miz and Mrs. will air both on My5 and Pluto TV, which is also owned by ViacomCBS.

WWE has been making many moves regarding their television situation in the United Kingdom since their departure from Sky Sports. Earlier this month, WWE moved from Sky Sports to pay channel BT Sport, which now airs Raw, SmackDown, NXT and NXT UK, as well as WWE’s pay-per-view events.
