WWE announces Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia for October

WWE is officially set to make their return to the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia.

On tonight’s SummerSlam pay-per-view, a video package aired announcing a return to Saudi Arabia in October. While no specific date was announced in the package, PWInsider reported that the show is scheduled for Thursday, October 21st.

The company hasn’t been in the country since Febuary 2020, where they held WWE Super Showdown in Riyadh. In the main event, Goldberg defeated “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt to win the WWE Universal Championship. They were set to return to the country that fall for another event, but the global COVID-19 pandemic delayed plans for a return.

WWE has been consistently putting on shows in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia since 2018. The two sides came to a ten-year agreement in 2018 to hold at least two events a year in the country until 2027, which brings in about 100 million dollars in revenue for the company.
