WWE announces brand-to-brand invitation, McIntyre vs. Corbin set

A match between a Raw and SmackDown star is set for next week’s Raw following the announcement of the brand-to-brand invitation.
After defeating Andrade on tonight’s episode of Raw, McIntyre explained that there was a “brand-to-brand invitation” between Raw and SmackDown. He went on to say that Raw extended an invitation to a SmackDown wrestler, which ended up being Corbin, and he accepted the invitation, choosing McIntyre as his opponent.
No details were made as to what exactly the brand-to-brand invitation was, or if there were any limitations. After the segment aired it was announced that Charlotte, who is on the Raw brand, would appear on SmackDown this Friday.
For several months last year, a Wild Card rule was introduced in WWE where four stars could appear on an opposite brand for one night only appearances. However, the rules were quickly dropped, with stars competing on both brands until a WWE Draft was held in October.
