WWE adds Barstool Sports CEO Erika Nardini to Board of Directors

Barstool Sports CEO Erika Nardini was named to WWE’s Board of Directors on Monday.
Since 2016, Nardini has been the company’s first CEO following after high level stints at Microsoft, Yahoo, and AOL. The sometimes controversial sports media powerhouse sold a significant stake in their company to Penn National Gaming earlier this year and launched their first online sportsbook in Pennsylvania.
Nardini, a driver in several new revenue growth areas during her tenure, also hosts a podcast called Token CEO. The company will look to utilize her experience attracting and retaining young males to the Barstool brand.
From the release: “During her tenure at Barstool Sports, Nardini has launched more than 35 brands, including breakout franchises in sports, entertainment, female lifestyle, business and sports betting. She also spearheaded the development of more than 1,500 social accounts, a top channel on SiriusXM and the #1 selling flavored vodka in North America, Pink Whitney.”
The 12-person Board includes Vince McMahon, former interim CFO Frank Riddick, Paul Levesque, Stephanie McMahon, former Sony Pictures president of home entertainment Man Jit Singh, Parkwood Entertainment chairman and CEO Steve Pamon, CNN SVP and Chief Technology Officer Robyn Peterson and others. Nardini becomes the third woman on WWE’s Board.
