Vince McMahon Netflix docuseries reportedly pulled from schedule

According to a report from our Denise Salcedo, the long-discussed and much anticipated Netflix docuseries on WWE’s Vince McMahon has been pulled off the schedule.

On Friday. Salcedo tweeted that a Netflix source confirmed the series is “no longer being listed on their spreadsheet” while another Netflix source said, “That (expletive) is out of here.”

Salcedo noted that a source indicated the series was deep into post-production and that millions had been spent already. A producer declined to either confirm or deny the story to her.

The news comes on the heels of Friday’s report by the Wall Street Journal that McMahon had spent $12 million in “hush pacts” with four different women, one of them being the first they had reported on last month.

First announced during the Q3 investors call in October 2020, the four-part docuseries was said by president Nick Khan to be one of the highest budgeted documentaries in Netflix history. The Ringer’s Bill Simmons and Fyre Festival documentary director Chris Smith were executive producers in addition to WWE Studios. It was set to debut at some point this year.

How this will affect the scripted “United States of America vs. Vince McMahon” series is unknown.

While McMahon remains in charge of creative and has been visible on both WWE Raw and SmackDown more frequently since the news broke, he voluntarily stepped down as WWE Chairman and CEO while a special committee of the company’s Board holds an investigation.

In the meantime, his daughter, Stephanie, is acting CEO and Chairwoman. Both McMahons, Paul Levesque and president Nick Khan were present at last Saturday’s UFC event in Las Vegas following their Money in the Bank event in the same city earlier in the night.
