Vince McMahon involved in car accident last week

Former WWE chairman Vince McMahon was recently involved in a car wreck, though no one was injured in the crash.

TMZ reports that the “bad car accident” happened in Connecticut around 9 a.m. last Thursday, with a crash report saying that it started with McMahon’s Bentley ramming into the back of a BMW. A third car, a Ford Fusion, also ended up being involved when debris from the accident flew into the other lane of the highway. The three drivers were wearing their seatbelts and did not sustain injuries, but all of their cars needed to be towed from the scene.

The report notes that McMahon has a court date scheduled for August and was issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and following too closely resulting in an accident.

“According to a crash report we obtained, McMahon’s 2024 Bentley was traveling northbound on Route 15 in Westport when it rammed into the back of a 2023 BMW 430 and collided with a median wooden-beam guardrail,” TMZ wrote. “Debris from the collision flew into the left side of the two-lane highway and a third vehicle, a Ford Fusion moving southbound, then ran into it.

“The force of the impact was so severe, the airbags were deployed on McMahon’s Bentley and the BMW. The report stated all three drivers were wearing their seatbelts. All three cars needed to be towed from the scene, and there was about 30 feet of damage to the median guardrail.”

TMZ has a photo gallery that includes images of the damage McMahon’s Bentley sustained.

July 24 was the date of the accident. That’s also the same day that Hulk Hogan passed away, but Hogan’s passing did not occur until later in the morning.

Amid his ongoing legal situation, McMahon issued a rare public statement last week mourning Hogan’s death and calling him the greatest WWE star of all time.

McMahon, 79, is no longer part of WWE after resigning from the company in January 2024 following a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant. McMahon and WWE are both defendants in the suit, which accuses McMahon of physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault, and sex trafficking.
