Update on Seth Rollins after WWE Raw injury

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is being evaluated after suffering an injury on Raw last night.

Rollins retained his World Heavyweight title against Jinder Mahal in the main event of Monday’s episode. There was a spot during the match where Rollins hit a Lionsault and then started favoring his knee. On commentary, it was pointed out that Rollins may have tweaked something.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Rollins was set to have an MRI done to evaluate the extent of the issue. The MRI will determine whether it’s something minor or something more significant.

“I just heard that [Rollins] got backstage, and I mean, he was walking on it,” Bryan Alvarez said.

“I just know he’s getting an MRI,” Meltzer added. “Then we’ll find out. Basically, I was told that it could be something minor, it could be something worse. We won’t know until the MRI result comes back.”

After Raw went off the air, Rollins gave a speech to the crowd thanking them for coming to the show and braving the cold weather. Rollins could be seen limping at the end of the speech.

Rollins vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship looks to be the planned direction for WrestleMania 40. WWE has been building up that match since Punk returned at Survivor Series.
