Universal title match official for next week’s WWE SmackDown

The Universal Championship will be on the line on next week’s SmackDown.
WWE has announced that Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Finn Balor on SmackDown next Friday. The match was made official after a challenge that was issued by Balor tonight.
Roman Reigns retained the Universal Championship by defeating John Cena at SummerSlam this past Saturday. Brock Lesnar then confronted Reigns after the match.
In the main event segment of tonight’s SmackDown, Reigns and The Usos hosted a family celebration. Balor interrupted them and challenged Reigns to a Universal Championship match next Friday.
Balor mentioned that Lesnar is back and brought up a promo from earlier in the show where Edge talked about going after the Universal Championship. Balor said he planned on challenging Reigns to a title match at next month’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view, but he doesn’t trust anyone around here and isn’t going to wait in line. Balor instead challenged Reigns to a title match on SmackDown next week.
A brawl broke out before Reigns could give Balor his answer. Balor threw the microphone at Reigns and then began brawling with him and The Usos. After The Street Profits made their way out to even the odds, the show ended with Balor and The Street Profits taking out The Usos as Reigns got away.
