Two title matches booked for next WWE SmackDown
Two title defenses are set for the August 23 WWE SmackDown, plus a trios bout is set for the show.
United States Champion LA Knight will defend his title against Santos Escobar on the Friday, August 23 WWE SmackDown. The bout was set up with a Legado Del Fantasma vignette on this week’s show where Escobar called out Knight.
Knight responded with a promo later in the program to accept the challenge for next Friday in Washington, DC.
New number one contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championship were also crowned on Friday’s SmackDown, with The Street Profits defeating DIY to earn a shot at The Bloodline (two of Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu) and the Tag Team titles on next week’s episode.
A trios match with Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Naomi vs. Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn, and Blair Davenport has also been announced for next week’s show.
