Two Money in the Bank qualifying matches set for WWE SmackDown

Money in the Bank qualifying will begin on SmackDown tonight with two triple threat matches.

In a social media video this afternoon, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that Chelsea Green vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Michin and Jimmy Uso vs. Rey Fenix vs. Solo Sikoa are taking place on tonight’s show. The winners become the first wrestlers to qualify for this year’s Money in the Bank ladder matches.

Money in the Bank is now three weeks away with the PLE set to be held at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California on Saturday, June 7. Qualifying will continue on Raw next Monday, but the participants for those matches have not been announced yet.

The MITB winners can cash in their briefcase for a title shot whenever they want to at any point over the next year. John Cena, Jey Uso, IYO SKY, and Tiffany Stratton are currently the top champions in WWE.

Aldis announced that Stratton will defend her WWE Women’s Championship tonight against Nia Jax, who defeated Jade Cargill last week in a number one contender’s match.

Plus, Wade Barrett will conduct a sit-down interview with R-Truth addressing John Cena’s attack from the post-Backlash press conference.

Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina is the venue for tonight’s show.
