Two Money in the Bank qualifying matches set for WWE SmackDown

The field for this year’s Money in the Bank ladder matches will begin to take shape on SmackDown this Friday night.
WWE has announced that two Money in the Bank qualifying matches will take place on this week’s episode of SmackDown. Drew McIntyre will face Sheamus in a men’s qualifying match, and Lacey Evans will take on Xia Li in a women’s qualifying match.
McIntyre and Sheamus have been on opposite sides of six-man tag team matches on SmackDown the past two weeks. McIntyre, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods won the first meeting before The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland & Butch) defeated them the next week.
This will be Evans’ first match in more than a year. After going on maternity leave, Evans gave birth last October.
WWE has flipped back and forth on which roster Evans is going to be part of in her return. Promos leading to her comeback began airing on SmackDown this April. Evans was then moved to the Raw roster before being moved back to SmackDown.
Money in the Bank is taking place in Las Vegas on Saturday, July 2.
