Triple threat semifinal match set for WWE King of the Ring tournament

Baron Corbin, Ricochet, and Samoa Joe have all advanced to the King of the Ring semifinals.

WWE has announced that Corbin, Ricochet, and Joe will face off in a triple threat match on Raw next week to determine which wrestler will advance to the finals. Corbin defeated Cedric Alexander in a quarterfinal match on tonight’s Raw, while Ricochet vs. Joe ended in a double pin.

Joe had Ricochet locked in the Coquina Clutch on the top rope near the end of their quarterfinal match. Ricochet then made them both fall down to the mat. They landed with their shoulders down and arms across each other. The referee counted the pin, and it was later announced that next week’s semifinal will be Corbin vs. Ricochet vs. Joe.

Prior to Corbin vs. Alexander, there was an angle where AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson attacked Alexander during a backstage interview.

Elias vs. Ali and Chad Gable vs. Andrade are SmackDown’s quarterfinal matches. Both are taking place on tomorrow’s episode.

The King of the Ring semifinals will be held on Raw and SmackDown at Madison Square Garden next Monday and Tuesday. The finals will then take place at Clash of Champions on September 15.
