Triple H, Cody Rhodes tease apparent ‘one night only’ belt return for WWE SNME
Cody Rhodes might be in possession of something special at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend.
In a video he posted on social media on Wednesday, Triple H is seen gifting Rhodes a large box that glowed gold when opened. While the contents of the box were not visible during the video, Rhodes is seen smiling when walking away with it.
“We keep talking about Saturday Night’s Main Event. You know, the whole theme of that thing is going to be retro. Jesse Ventura’s going to be there. Long Island, New York, Nassau Coliseum. With that in mind, got something for you. Understand this: One night only.”
Shortly after winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes said he would try his best to bring backed the popular Winged Eagle design for the title, which WWE used from 1988 to 1998.
“I have no stroke other than the fact that I’m the champion but I just think it would be special perhaps to see a particular championship, one that I grew up on,” Rhodes said on the Pat McAfee Show, before adding, “I have no stroke other than the fact that I’m the champion but I just think it would be special perhaps tAgain, I’m not in charge of anything. Triple H is in charge of things but you guys are damn right, the winged eagle. If it doesn’t happen, just don’t get mad at me, okay? I’ll do what I did the last time, I’m going to try my best so thank you, guys.”
