Ticketmaster says ‘WWE Late Night’ with Tony Hinchcliffe has been canceled
WWE Late Night is no longer taking place.
Ticketmaster has listed WWE Late Night Featuring Tony Hinchcliffe as being canceled, with refunds being issued. The event was set to take place next weekend on August 2 following the first night of SummerSlam.
“Event Canceled. Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event,” Ticketmaster’s website read.
PWInsider is reporting that a source told them that the event was canceled by WWE and that ticket sales had been “light” for the show. Only Cody Rhodes had been advertised thus far.
“Hinchcliffe, the internationally renowned comedian, one of the top roasters in the world and the mastermind behind Kill Tony, will bring together soon-to-be-announced top comics, entertainers and WWE Superstars for an unforgettable night of laughs and huge surprises,” WWE wrote when announcing the show back in June.
The event was set to be non-televised, similar to Hinchcliffe’s first event following WrestleMania where cellphone use was also prohibited. The roast did eventually leak online and caused controversy due to jokes being made regarding Charlotte Flair’s appearance and marital history, among other things.
