The Rock teases WWE return during Make-A-Wish visit

Only a few people know what Rock’s plans are regarding a potential WWE return, and one of those people is a 15-year-old named Jayden.

The Rock posted to social media on Saturday about a Make-A-Wish visit he had with Jayden recently. During their conversation, Rock says he let the teenager in on a little secret about “some dude” possibly returning to WWE.

The Rock wrote:

Jayden is 15 and he’s awesome!!

Jayden’s wish was to meet, “the people’s champ”. He is a HUUUUUGE ROCK & pro wrestling fan and we had a BLAST chopping up his favorite wrestlers and matches!!

I LOVE pro wrestling so my time with Jayden was super dope!

I told him a little secret that may or may not involve some dude returning to WWE to lay the SmackDown on all their candy asses

There’s a lot of negative and toxic noise out there in the world – but there’s a lot of positive, good things too, and Jayden is one of them.

The Rock made a surprise appearance on the September 15 episode of WWE SmackDown. Earlier that day, he had been on The Pat McAfee Show and spoke about potentially appearing at WrestleMania 40. The following month, our own Dave Meltzer addressed Rock’s status for next year’s event in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Meltzer wrote:

Regarding the stories that WWE won’t do Rock vs. Reigns at Mania if Rock wants to do it, what we were told is this. If he wants the spot I can’t believe WWE would turn him down but after Johnson turned it down last year, nobody is going with the idea he’s going to do it this year. The match is not scheduled, unlike at this time last year when the match was considered a good shot. The belief is that Johnson will have plenty of work once the strikes are over [and] he’ll have plenty to do. What we were told is that Rock is not going to come back and win the title. I’d never anticipate that would be an issue as if the match was to happen, I always figured Reigns to win and Rock then retiring in the ring.
