The Rock shares off-air footage from WWE Raw beatdown of Cody Rhodes

The Rock’s beatdown of Cody Rhodes didn’t end when Monday night’s WWE Raw went off the air.

As part of the build to WrestleMania 40, a memorable angle where The Rock attacked and bloodied Rhodes took place on Raw this week. The attack spilled outside of the arena, where The Rock whipped Rhodes with a custom “Mama Rhodes” weight belt. The Rock has promised that he’s going to make Rhodes bleed again at WrestleMania and present the bloody weight belt to Rhodes’ mother Michelle Rubio.

In an Instagram post on Friday, The Rock shared footage of what happened after Raw ended. After being told the show was over, Rock continued to whip Rhodes with the weight belt and kept taunting Rhodes’ mother.

“What, the show is over and then it stops? F*ck that,” The Rock said. “Your script? F*ck that.”

The Rock’s appearance on Raw wasn’t advertised in advance. He made a surprise appearance at the start of the episode and interrupted Rhodes. Rock whispered something in Rhodes’ ear, which was later revealed to be: “Tonight, I’m gonna make you bleed.”

The Rock & Rhodes are facing off in a tag team match in the main event of WrestleMania 40 night one on Saturday, April 6. It will be The Rock & Roman Reigns vs. Rhodes & Seth Rollins.

Reigns vs. Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship will then headline night two of WrestleMania 40. If Rhodes & Rollins win the night one tag match, The Bloodline will be barred from ringside for Reigns vs. Rhodes. But if The Rock & Reigns win, Reigns vs. Rhodes will be a Bloodline Rules (anything goes) match.

The Rock and Reigns are both set to appear on this coming Monday’s Raw episode from Brooklyn, New York. It’s Raw’s go-home show for WrestleMania.

The Rock and Reigns will then be guests on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (April 3).
