The Rock reflects on WWE return: ‘We’re just getting started’

In an Instagram post on Tuesday night, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reflected on his surprise WWE return.

Johnson returned to WWE by appearing on Monday’s Day 1 edition of Raw. He took part in a segment with Jinder Mahal, but what really caught peoples’ attention is what Johnson said at the end of the appearance. Johnson teased that he wants to face Roman Reigns and take Reigns’ spot at the Head of the Table.

“It all hits differently. The theme, the crowd, the connection, the reaction, the electricity, the chills – the mana. Helluva way to bring in 2024,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “Grateful, blessed & inspired to forever be, the People’s Champ.”

Johnson also added the following line at the end of his post: “We’re just getting started.”

Reigns responded to Johnson’s Raw appearance on Monday by tweeting a crying laughing emoji:

Reigns is set to appear on this Friday’s New Year’s Revolution episode of SmackDown. On the show, Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles are facing off in a number one contender’s match to determine who will challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble.

WWE hasn’t indicated where a potential Reigns vs. Rock match would take place.

The full 22-minute segment of Johnson’s Raw return is available to watch below. It was Johnson’s first WWE appearance since showing up on SmackDown last September. Before that, he hadn’t appeared since 2019.
