The Rock hypes WWE SmackDown return: ‘The Final Boss is coming to handle business’

The Rock is ready to handle business when he returns to WWE SmackDown tonight.

Last night, it was announced that The Rock will be appearing on tonight’s WWE SmackDown episode from New Orleans. The role he’ll be playing on the show has not been revealed yet, but The Rock posted an Instagram comment hyping that he has “a big beautiful gift” for the city of New Orleans. He also teased that he has an unnamed target in his sights.

“The Final Boss is coming to handle business, deliver a big beautiful gift to the city of New Orleans and f*ck up a certain someone’s life with the Final Boss gospel,” The Rock wrote.

It’s been heavily rumored that WrestleMania 42 will be held in New Orleans in 2026, so that announcement could be the gift Rock has for the city.

Tonight’s appearance should provide clarity on whether or not The Rock will be competing in the ring at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas this April. He appeared at Raw’s Netflix premiere and NXT New Year’s Evil last month, though no indication was given then that he would be wrestling at Mania.

Paul “Triple H” Levesque said in a press release: “Strap in. When The Final Boss shows up at this time of year, the audience knows absolutely anything is possible. Everything could change in an instant.”

Here is the updated SmackDown card for tonight:
