The Rock closes WWE SmackDown with custom gifts for Cody Rhodes
The Final Boss still wants Cody Rhodes’s soul, but has sweetened the pot.
The Rock appeared on Friday’s WWE SmackDown via video promo as the show closed, giving Cody Rhodes a custom truck, and invoking the late Dusty Rhodes in a rambling segment that included Rock displaying a weight belt with the inscription “Cody’s Soul” with the date of Dusty’s death embroidered below.
Cody entered for an interview with Michael Cole where Cole laid out what Cody becoming “The Rock’s Champion” might look like, from a seat on the TKO board, to a lighter travel schedule.
Before Rhodes could respond, a custom pickup truck with Cody’s American Nightmare logo painted on it was presented to the Undisputed WWE Champion as a gift from The Rock.
The Rock went on to say that he knew Rhodes would make the right choice on Saturday at Elimination Chamber and become his champion.
Rhodes will respond to The Rock’s offer at Saturday’s Elimination Chamber PLE in Toronto.
Four matches are also official for Saturday’s card. The kickoff show begins at 5 p.m. Eastern time on Peacock in the US and on Netflix in most of the rest of the world, with the main card beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern.
